In today’s tutorial section you will master yourself of the process on how to calculate the cutting length of a stirrup. Well, before proceeding towards the tutorial we should have a basic understanding of the stirrup.
Generally, the requirement of stirrup lies in areas of high shear such as bearing points and below large point loads. Increasing concrete beam expands, to lessen the requirement for extra piers, has originated in the necessity for the steel stirrups’ use. Concrete beams differ in depth. A deeper beam has the maximum shear capacity. When the depth is not enough, steel stirrups must be adjoined to enhance the shear capacity of the beam.
